Total Time 10 minutes
Course Dinner, lunch
Cuisine American, Asian
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey
  • 9 oz. package red/green cabbage or cole slaw mix
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (use 4 frozen squares from Trader Joe's) See Note 1
  • 2 tsp ginger (use 2 frozen squares from Trader Joe's) See Note 1
  • 1/2 cup Trader Joe's Soyaki sauce see it here
  • rice, for serving (optional)
  • scallions, hot sauce for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Brown Meat: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook turkey for 3-4 minutes until cooked through and no longer pink. Pro Tip: Use a potato masher during the last minute of cooking to get the meat broken up nice and fine.
  • Add: Add ginger and garlic and cook one minute more. Then, add the bag of slaw and stir until everything is well combined. Cook 1-2 minutes until cabbage is slightly soft.
  • Finish: Stir in Soyaki sauce and cook until heated through. Top with scallions and serve over rice, if you like!

Notes

Note 1: Trader Joe’s sells frozen chopped ginger and garlic in the freezer section near the frozen veggies. I am telling you, they are LIFE CHANGING!!! No messy chopping and they are fresh and taste great!
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days
