INGREDIENT NOTES & SUBSTITUTIONS

Greek yogurt: Use any flavor you like! I love their vanilla bean yogurt and the “honey” flavor for this breakfast bowl.

Granola: Keeping with the “vanilla” theme, the vanilla almond yogurt is delish, but again, use whatever crunchy granola or topping you like. The “Very Berry” flavor is so good, but I believe it’s seasonal and you can’t always find it.

Berries: Fresh or frozen work great! If I am making this ahead of time, I throw in frozen berries and they’re nice and melty the next day and soooo yummy stirred into the yogurt.

CASEY’S TIPS

  1. Prep ahead tip: You can absolutely make this ahead of time. Place the yogurt, berries, and nut butter (if using) into a jar or airtight container in the fridge overnight. Add the granola the next morning and you’re ready to roll.
  2. Measure with your heart: This is a recipe-but-not-a-recipe-type recipe 🙂 AKA: You can’t mess it up! Add more of anything, less of anything and be creative. This is just a base recipe, so have fun with it!
  3. Yummy additions: Customize your toppings until you heart’s content! Some of my faves (all from Trader Joe’s): coconut flakes, chia seeds, hemp hearts, dried fruit, honey, maple syrup, and pistachios.
