Perfect lazy brunch…
Lazy Sundays are something I don’t get much these days, but when I do this Cinnamon and Sugar Bread French Toast is always a hit with everyone!
It takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish to whip up this honest-to-goodness restaurant quality french toast. If you’re short on time (or just feeling lazy), toast up some big slices and just slather them with butter. No judgements. 🙂
Cheers,

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
You’ll need the following ingredients to make Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Sugar Bread French Toast:

INGREDIENT NOTES & SUBSTITUTIONS
Hand Twisted Cinnamon and Sugar Bread: This bread is bakery-style and comes in an unsliced loaf. You can cut the slices however thick you like! However, I have found about 1 inch to be the sweet spot for French toast.
Milk: Feel free to use any type of milk you like (2%, whole milk, almond milk, etc). For a more decadent French toast, try heavy cream or half and half.

Casey’s Top Tip: Resist the urge to cook this French toast on too high of a heat (350°F or medium is perfect). You want that nice, golden brown color on the outside, but you also want it to be perfectly cooked the inside, too.

Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bread French Toast
Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk Feel free to use any type of milk you like (2%, whole milk, almond milk, etc). For a more decadent French toast, try heavy cream or half and half.
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp sea salt or kosher salt
- 6 slices Trader Joe's Hand Twisted Cinnamon and Sugar Bread cut into 1-inch slices (See Note 1)
- 1-2 tbsp butter – for the skillet or griddle plus more for serving
- maple syrup, powdered sugar, and berries for serving, optional
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat a griddle to 350° or heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Mix: In a shallow dish or bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt for about 30 seconds until all ingredients are well combined.
- Dip: Melt butter onto the griddle or skillet. While the butter is melting, dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture for about 3-4 seconds. Flip, and dip the other side so the bread is well coated. Gently shake off any excess egg mixture.
- Fry: Place the bread on the preheated griddle or skillet and cook on one side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, flip, and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
- Finish: Sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve with fresh berries, if you like!
