INGREDIENT NOTES

Salmon: Any type of salmon will work in this recipe. King salmon has the most fat content and brings rich flavor while Atlantic salmon is more cost effective and accessible. I always use skinless salmon fillets for ease. Try to look for fish fillets that have a uniform thickness so you can easily cut them into 1-inch cubes. Plus, uniform bite-sized salmon pieces will cook evenly.

HOW TO MAKE CRISPY AIR FRYER SALMON BITES: STEP-BY-STEP

Here are some quick visual instructions. Remember that full instructions with exact ingredients will be in the printable recipe card below!

Step 1: In a large bowl, toss salmon cubes with avocado oil or olive oil until thoroughly coated. Season with paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the cubes of salmon with a pair of tongs.

Step 2: Add the seasoned salmon bites to the air fryer and cook at 400°F for 4 minutes. Shake the basket to move the salmon bites around and continue to air fry salmon for another 3-6 minutes or until it’s cooked through and the cubes are golden brown.

Step 4: Add the crispy air fryer salmon bites to the pan and toss until the outside of the salmon is fully coated. Top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

RECIPE TIPS & TRICKS

  • Don’t overcook the fish. Cook time will depend on the size of your salmon chunks and your air fryer but you want to cook until the internal temperature of fish registers 145° F with a meat thermometer.
  • Sauce it up! If you want more sauce you can double or even triple the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar.

Confidence Tip

No air fryer? No problem. These salmon bites can be cooked in a saute pan for 6 to 8 minutes. They can also be made in the oven at 425° F for 8 to 10 minutes.

STORAGE

Storage: Store leftover salmon bites in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. It’s delicious cold, especially on top of a salad but you can also reheat in a small saucepan or skillet over medium heat until warmed through.

Tip: Used leftover salmon in this Viral Salmon Bowl!
