If you've never made French toast with Trader Joe's Cinnamon and Sugar bread, you are missing out!! It's the perfect texture for a hearty French toast, and the cinnamon and sugar take it over the top!
1/2cupmilkFeel free to use any type of milk you like (2%, whole milk, almond milk, etc). For a more decadent French toast, try heavy cream or half and half.
1/2tspground cinnamon
1/4tspsea salt or kosher salt
6slicesTrader Joe's Hand Twisted Cinnamon and Sugar Breadcut into 1-inch slices (See Note 1)
1-2tbspbutter - for the skillet or griddleplus more for serving
maple syrup, powdered sugar, and berriesfor serving, optional
Instructions
Prep: Preheat a griddle to 350° or heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Mix: In a shallow dish or bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt for about 30 seconds until all ingredients are well combined.
Dip: Melt butter onto the griddle or skillet. While the butter is melting, dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture for about 3-4 seconds. Flip, and dip the other side so the bread is well coated. Gently shake off any excess egg mixture.
Fry: Place the bread on the preheated griddle or skillet and cook on one side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, flip, and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
Finish: Sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve with fresh berries, if you like!

Note 1: Short on time? Cut thinner slices of bread for quicker cooking.
