RECIPE INGREDIENTS, SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
These charcuterie nachos are very much a “measure with your heart”-type recipe and choose what you want-type recipe. I’ve included the base ingredients below, but make it your own!

Kettle chips: A good sturdy chip is a must! I love plain kettle chips. Feel free to use a “flavored” version, too like salt and vinegar or dill pickle chips!
Cheese: The combo I love is a sharp white cheddar and brie (typical “charcuterie board” cheeses). Other great options are fontina, havarti, gouda, smoked gouda, and Gruyère.
Meat: Think “charcuterie meat” like prosciutto and salami. Some other good options are: pepperoni, soppressata, or capocollo. Chopped bacon bits are also yummy!
Sweet topping(s): For this part, I love just a quick drizzle of honey and balsamic glaze. But other options include dollops of sweet jam such as apricot, fig, bacon jam, or pepper jelly.
Fresh topping: I always love something “fresh” on my charcuterie boards! My favorite fresh topping is peppery arugula. Chopped chives, microgreens or fresh basil are also perfect.
HOW TO MAKE CHARCUTERIE NACHOS STEP-BY-STEP
Here are some quick visual instructions. Remember that full instructions with exact ingredients will be in the printable recipe card below.

CASEY’S TIPS
- Use two cheeses: Use one melty cheese one cheese with some “personality.” Sharp white cheddar + brie is my go-to combo!
- Good coverage: Make sure all the chips have cheese coverage! LOL! If you have a lot of chips, consider doing one light layer of chips, then covering that layer with cheese. Then do another light layer on top, and cover with the remaining cheese.
- Make ahead tip: You can layer the chips, cheese and meat about 30-60 minutes ahead of time. Then when your guests arrive (or you get hungry!), pop it into the oven!

Casey’s Top Tip: Use sturdy, salty chips like kettle chips or flavored kettle chips. The saltiness pairs perfectly with the sweet layer. I would avoid regular potato chips (such as Lay’s) since they typically aren’t sturdy enough to hold all of the delicious toppings!
