Trader Joe’s Garlic Spread Dip: This dip is heaven and there are so many ways to use it, BUT slathering it on a grilled cheese is one of the BEST ways to use it. It’s found in the cold section at TJ’s near the dips and cheeses.
Trader Joe’s Cracked Wheat Bread: Hands down, the best grilled cheese bread! Perfectly crispy every time. You can also use your favorite hearty bread for this grilled cheese.

Casey’s Top Tip: My favorite “melty” cheeses for a grilled cheese are havarti, fontina, mozzarella, provolone, and white cheddar. Use one or a combination of a couple of these! Use slices or shred straight off the block for the meltiest cheese goodness!

Trader Joe’s Garlic Spread Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- 4 slices Trader Joe's Cracked Wheat Bread
- 1 8oz. tub Trader Joe's Garlic Spread Dip
- 4 oz. favorite melty cheese suggestions: havarti, mozzarella, gouda, fontina, Provolone
Instructions
- Prep: Heat a nonstick large skillet or griddle to medium heat. Spread BOTH sides of each slice of bread generously with the garlic spread dip. Note: Use about 1 tbsp per side for a rich, garlicky flavor. For less garlic flavor, just use the garlic spread on the inside and use butter or olive oil on the outside.
- Cook: Place two slices of bread on your skillet or griddle. Top each piece with cheese. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top. Cook the sandwiches for about 2-3 minutes on one side- or until golden brown. Then flip, and cook on the other side until golden brown and all the cheese is nicely melted. Tip: if your cheese isn’t melting well, place a lid or baking sheet over your skillet for a minute or so.
- Finish: Cut each sandwich in half and serve.
