Trader Joe's Tikka Masala Curry Sauce with Chicken
Casey Rooney
If you love rich Indian flavors and spices, but can't bear the price of takeout, the Trader Joe's Tikka Masala Curry Sauce is for you! This simple recipe includes chicken, but you can easily substitute veggies, chickpeas, beef, or even lamb!
1lb. chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
28.8 oz. packages Trader Joe's Tikka Masala Curry Sauce
2packages Trader Joe's frozen jasmine rice or any other cooked rice
chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
olive oil
Instructions
Cook Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add chicken. Cook chicken pieces for 5-6 minutes until cooked through.
Add Sauce & Simmer: Add both packages of the Trader Joe's Tikka Masala Curry Sauce and stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes. The sauce gets a bit thick as it cooks, so I like to add 1-2 tbsp of water to thin it out a bit. While the chicken tikka is simmering, cook the frozen rice.
Finish: Serve chicken tikka masala over rice and garnish with lots of fresh cilantro, if you like! I like to serve this dish with a green veggie like this air fryer broccoli.
Notes
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days. When reheating, add a splash of water to thin out the sauce a bit. Heat/Spice: For a bit more heat, add a sprinkle of Trader Joe's Smokey and Hot Chili Powder or some crushed red pepper.
