Chocolate Jello Pudding pie with a piece cut out.

Chocolate Pie Using Jello Pudding

Casey Rooney
This chocolate pie using Jello pudding is one of the easiest and most delicious desserts you can make! Creamy chocolate pudding is layered with Cool Whip and finished with chocolate shavings for a beautiful dessert! But the best part - it only takes about 10 minutes to make, start to finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 3.8 oz. boxes of Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix and Pie Filling Not Cook and Serve
  • 2 1/2 cups of half and half
  • 1 8 oz. tub of whipped topping or homemade whipped cream, thawed such as Cool Whip
  • 1 10 inch chocolate pie crust an Oreo crust or graham cracker crust works, too
  • 1 chocolate bar to make chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • Make the pudding: To a large bowl, add chocolate pudding mix and milk. Beat with a whisk (or electric mixer) until slightly thickened (about 1-2  minutes). Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes. After 5-10 minutes, fold in HALF of the whipped topping into the pudding mixture.
  • Spread: Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the chocolate pie crust.
  • Layer: Over the chocolate layer, layer on the remaining whipped topping. Gently spread it, leaving some of the chocolate layer showing around the edges.
  • Chill & finish: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or up to overnight (OVERNIGHT WORKS BEST) to allow the pie to set.
You can even freeze it for a few hours if you’re in a time crunch.
Use a vegetable peeler and shave the chocolate bar to make “curls” on top of the pie.
