These delicious Green Beans with Pineapple and Bacon are an unexpected twist on your typical holiday green beans! Fresh green beans are tossed in a sweet and savory bacon and pineapple glaze, then topped with almonds and more bacon for the perfect bite!
1lb.fresh green beans, trimmed OR Del Monte® canned green beansSee Note 1
1can (20 oz.) Del Monte® Deluxe Gold® Pineapple Chunks , 1/2 cup of juice reserved
8ozbacon, chopped into 1/4" pieces (about 8 slices)
1tspMcCormick® Whole Rosemary Leaves
2tbsplight or dark brown sugar
1/2 tspsalt
1/4 cupsliced almonds (optional)
Instructions
In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon bits until crispy--about 5-6 minutes. Transfer to a paper-towel lined plate; set aside.
Drain all but 1-2 teaspoons of bacon grease from the skillet. Add pineapple juice, brown sugar and rosemary, stirring well to mix. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook 3-4 minutes until sauce is slightly thickened.
Add green beans, toss them in the sauce, then cover and cook for 5-6 minutes until beans are crisp-tender.
Add pineapple chunks, half of the bacon and salt to skillet with green beans. Give everything a big toss, then transfer to a serving platter. Top green beans with almonds (if using) and remaining bacon. Serve immediately.

Note 1: We think this recipe could also work with Del Monte® canned green beans, whole or cut, 3 or 4 cans.
