Instructions
For Frozen Shredded Hash Browns
Prep: Preheat air fryer to 380°F. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting, just turn it to 380°F and give it about 3-5 minutes to come to temperature.Line your air fryer tray with parchment paper. This parchment paper works really well and is specifically designed for rectangle or "tray" type air fryers. This parchment paper is for the square or "drawer" type air fryers. Double-check to be sure the measurements fit your air fryer.
Toss: While air fryer is preheating, add shredded hash browns to a large bowl. Add oil and toss to coat. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the hash browns and toss to evenly coat.
Air Fry: Place shredded hash browns in an even layer on the parchment paper in the air fryer basket ((it's totally OK if they overlap a bit...that's what gives you a good combo of crispy and soft parts!). Air fry hash browns for 15-17 minutes, giving them a quick shake every 4-5 minutes. Serve right away.
For Frozen Diced Hashbrowns
Prep: Preheat air fryer to 380°F. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting, just turn it to 380°F and give it about 3-5 minutes to come to temperature.Optional: Line your air fryer tray with parchment paper. This parchment paper works really well and is specifically designed for rectangle or "tray" type air fryers. This parchment paper is for the square or "drawer" type air fryers. Double-check to be sure the measurements fit your air fryer.
Toss: While air fryer is preheating, add diced hash browns to a large bowl. Add oil and toss to coat. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the hash browns and toss to evenly coat.
Air Fry: Place diced hash browns in an even layer in the air fryer basket ((it's totally OK if they overlap a bit--just make sure you don't overload the air fryer)). Air fry diced hash browns for 20-23 minutes, giving them a quick shake every 4-5 minutes. Hash brown should be nice and golden brown on the outside and a bit soft on the inside. Serve right away.
For Hash Brown Patties
Prep: Preheat air fryer to 400°F. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting, just turn it to 400°F and give it about 3-5 minutes to come to temperature.
Air Fry: Place frozen patties into the air fryer (do not overlap). Air fry for 8 minutes. Flip, then air fry for an additional 2-4 minutes until crisp and golden brown. Serve right away.
Optional: Sprinkle a little sea salt and fresh ground black pepper over the top of the patties after they come out of the air fryer.
Notes
TIPS:
Mix/Toss: For perfectly even cooking and maximum crispiness, mix the shredded and diced hashbrowns every 4-5 minutes. You can also give them a good shake or stir at the halfway point.
No Added Seasoning: Be sure to double-check your frozen hash brown package to ensure they are not seasoned with salt or any additional seasoning.
Extra Crispy: If you like extra crispy hash browns, air fry 2-3 minutes more than the stated cooking time
