Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3-4 tbsp powdered sugar See Note 1

Instructions

  • Combine: In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine all ingrediets. Optional: For best results, use a chilled bowl. Just place the bowl in the fridge or freezer for 15-20 minutes before starting to whip your cream.
  • Mix: Using a hand held mixer or stand mixer at medium speed, mix for a few seconds until the ingredients are combined. Then, turn mixer to high speed and beat for 3-4 minutes until stiff peaks JUST begin to form. Scrape down the sides of the bowl a few times, if needed.
Do not overmix as the whipped cream will turn lumpy (and eventually turn into butter)!
Note: "Soft peaks" happen at about the 3-minute mark when the cream just starts to come together. The cream will be soft and may just BARELY stand up when the beaters are lifted. Keep a close eye on the whipped cream at this point--the "stiff peaks" will form soon after. When the cream reaches the "stiff peaks" stage, the whipped cream will firmly stand up when the beaters are lifted.
  • Chill: Transfer the cinnamon whipped cream to an airtight container and chill in the fridge or serve immediately!

Notes

Adjust the sweetness to your taste preference or consider how your whipped cream will be served. If you will be serving it with a super sweet dessert (like Pecan Pie), use 3 tablespoons (or less!) of sugar. If you are using it on a lighter dessert (like angel food cake or pound cake), use a little more sugar.
