Ingredients

For the sauce – 2 tsp olive oil – 1 lb. lean ground beef – 1 small white or yellow onion – 4 cloves garlic – 1 tsp oregano  – 1/2 tsp salt – 1 28 oz. jar marinara sauce For the stuffed shells – 16-20 jumbo pasta shells – 1 cup ricotta cheese – 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese – 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped – 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese – 1/2 tsp sea salt – 1/2 tsp garlic powder – 2 tsp fresh lemon juice

Start by...

Cook the pasta.  In a medium bowl, add cheeses, basil, salt, garlic powder and lemon juice (if using). Stir well until all ingredients are well mixed. Set aside.

Simmer...

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef. Add the sauce ingredients and simmer until onions are soft, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Stuff the shells and place in a single layer in the casserole dish with the sauce. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until sauce is bubbling.
